What is mobileism???

Hi everyone and welcome to mobileism.  At this point you may be wondering what this blog is all about.  I’ll try to answer that question in two ways.

In a sentence: Mobileism seeks to provide insights and perspectives on smartphones, smartphone technology, and track the mobile industry’s influence on all of this.

In a paragraph:  Advanced mobile phones (smartphones) are positioned to be the next major computing platform.  All around the world, there are people whose first computing experience will be on a mobile device.  As the devices that we carry in our pockets become more advanced, we will increasingly use our mobile devices to accomplish things we never thought we would be able to.  The envelope of what mobile phones are capable of are being pushed by a variety of companies.  From large multi national corporations to five guys in a garage working on mobile applications, the ecosystem that smartphones exist in is rich and deserves to be explored to the fullest extent possible.

So thats basically it.  I could list an array of statistics that show the explosive growth of smartphones, but you only have to look around you everyday to see the role smartphones have in our lives.  Mobileism exists to analyze this space and it is my hope to provide commentary and perspective that will help all of us learn more about our smartphones and what companies are doing to make an impact in this system.
